TVS Interconnect lines up Rs 200cr investment

To spend the amount for offering build-operate-lease services to telecom service providers

TVS Interconnect Systems Limited, part of the $3 billion TVS Group, will be investing Rs 200 crore for offering build-operate-lease services to telecom service providers.
 
This apart, the Rs 121-crore company, which provides solutions to the telcommunications and networking segment, is looking at doubling its turnover to Rs 250 crore this year.
 
Addressing the media, Biswajit Patnaik, general manager-sales and marketing (telecom), TVS Interconnect Systems Limited, said, "One of our future offerings will be build, operate and lease services wherein we will build the required infrastructure, operate it and lease it to telecom service providers. This way, service providers can save on capital and operational expenditure. We plan to invest around Rs 200 crore this year for this offering."
 
The company will also be investing Rs 25 crore-Rs 30 crore over the next two years in the manufacturing unit for multi-phased antenna, being set up in partnership with Argus Technologies (Australia) Pty Limited. The unit is expected to become operational by July this year at its Madurai plant.
 
TVS Interconnect has also announced the launch of structured cabling and fibre solutions targeted towards the SME sector. These include patch cords, cables, connectors etc. "This is a Rs 400-crore business and we are eyeing a market share of 22-25 per cent this year," Patnaik said.
 
The company is also betting big on the aviation sector. It has already bagged projects for providing network infrastructure for the Hyderabad International Airport apart from the Bangalore airport.
 
"We are hoping to bag more of such projects," S Ashok, general manager-networking, TVS Interconnect Systems Limited, said, adding that the company was eyeing Rs 250 crore turnover this year.
