Andhra Power Units Top In Plant Load

Thermal power stations belonging to the Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation (APGenco) have secured the top three slots in plant load factor in 2002-03.

The 420 Mw Rayalaseema thermal power project recorded the highest plant load factor of 94.83 per cent, while the 1,260 Mw Vijayawada thermal power station and the 500 Mw Kothagudem thermal power station (Stage-V) recorded plant load factors of 93.17 per cent and 93.16 per cent, respectively, in 2002-03.

These power plants have, therefore, qualified for the productivity awards and the gold medals instituted by the ministry of power.
