Apeejay founder Stya Paul passes away

Stya Paul, a renowned freedom fighter, educationist and industrialist, passed away here today. He was 91.
Paul, who was the founder chairman of Apeejay Education Society which runs a large number of schools and other institutes across north India, was ailing for quite some time.
Paul, who also founded the Apeejay Stya University which is located in Haryana's Gurgaon, was jailed during the 1942 Quit India Movement. He was the elder brother of London-based NRI industrialist Lord Swraj Paul.
He is survived by his daughter and grand children.
Expressing shock at the demise of his brother, Labour peer Swraj Paul said, "To me he was more than a brother. He was a great brother and an outstanding human being. He was like a father to me as I had lost my parents at an young age."
The NRI industrialist is flying here to attend the funeral to be held tomorrow.
