The Left parties are awaiting a response from External Affair Minister Pranab Mukherjee on their letter setting a deadline of July 7 for the UPA government to clarify whether it is going to the IAEA, CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat said today.

		</script> </DIV><p class='TableClas'>"We have sent a letter to Pranab Mukherjee yesterday and we are waiting for his reply," Karat said before meeting CPI-M patriarch Jyoti Basu at his Salt Lake residence here.</P>
</p><p class='TableClas'>Karat along with West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and CPI(M) state Secretary Biman Bose were closetted with Basu for 45 minutes.</P>
</p><p class='TableClas'>They apprised him of latest developments on the UPA-Left stand-off on the Indo-US civilian nuclear deal, party sources said.</P>
</p><p class='TableClas'>After the meeting, none of the leaders spoke to the press.</P>
