Seminar on agri, processed food exports on April 22

The Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Fapcci), in association with Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (Apeda), is organising a national seminar on 'Agri and processed food products export "� Emerging trends' here on Saturday.
 
The objective of the seminar is to disseminate the information on current trends and opportunities in agri and processed food exports, export financing and related government schemes and to make recommendations for enhancement of agri-processed food exports from Andhra Pradesh, according to Fapcci president C V Atchut Rao.
 
Being the second largest producer of fruits and vegetables in the country, the state had a huge scope for the development of agri and processed products industry as well as exports, he said.
 
K Narayana Rao, chairman, agriculture & agro committee of Fapcci, said, in addition to the proposed agri products processing zone in Chittoor, the government needs to establish a couple of more agri processing zones in the state to tap the export potential in this sector.
 
State marketing minister B Satyanarayana, A K Guta, advisor(WTO), Apeda, Atul Sinha, vice-president (sales & marketing) of Agrotech Foods Limited are expected to participate in the event.
