"We have redefined the e-learning process with specially designed programmes to cater to the working executies and professionals. The use of interactive capabilities encourages intellectual exchanges among students and faculty," Rangan said.

The programmes emulate all aspects of traditional, classroom-based learning through the creative use of active web-based communication tools, such as email, real-time chat, threaded discussions and public folders, to exchange information allowing students to be connected anytime, anywhere, Rangan said.

The second batch of senior executives will commence the programme in June this year. Three new certificate programmes in finance, marketing and information systems management will also be included. Wipro plans to train 50-100 employees every quarter under this programme, D Selvan, vice president & head(talent transformation) for Wipro said.

The company is actively considering the possibility of asking its employees who undergo these courses to sign a bond that will make them to stay with the company for a certain period. "This will help us select only the serious employees and eliminate those who want to leave the company after attaining the degree from U21Global," Selvan said.
