Mentha oil futures gain 0.4% on export demand

Mentha oil futures rose by Rs 5.20, or 0.40%, to Rs 1,297 per kg today, supported by a pick-up in domestic and export demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for December delivery rose by Rs 5.20, or 0.40%, to Rs 1,297 per kg, with a trading volume of 299 lots, while the January contract gained Rs 4.30, or 0.32%, to Rs 1,309.40 per kg in 151 lots.

Market analysts said a pick-up in export and industrial demand and restricted arrivals from Chandausi, in Uttar Pradesh, mainly pushed up mentha oil prices in futures trade.
