Sensex down 83pts; ITC gains 3%

The NSE Nifty is down 17 points at 5,176.

Bharti Airtel has plunged 3.5% to Rs 862. Maruti has shed 2.5% at Rs 765, and Mahindra & Mahindra has slipped over 2% to Rs 662.

DLF has dropped 1.8% to Rs 693. Jaiprakash Associates and Reliance Energy have declined over 1% each to Rs 283 and Rs 1,500, respectively.

SBI, Wipro and Infosys are down over 1% each at Rs 1,760, Rs 485 and Rs 1,769, respectively.

ITC has surged 2.5% to Rs 226. Cipla, Tata Steel and Hindalco have advanced 1.3% each to Rs 219, Rs 813 and Rs 186, respectively.
