Sensex lacklustre, breadth marginally -ve

The Sensex is down marginally at 8,583, down 24 points.

Tata Power has tumbled over 3% to Rs 689. Bharti Airtel has plunged 2.5% at Rs 601.

Sun Pharma, HDFC and Reliance Communications have dropped around 2% each at Rs 972, Rs 1,213 and Rs 143, respectively.

ITC has slipped 1.5% to Rs 176. Infosys and Hindustan Unilever are down over 1% each at Rs 1,204 and Rs 242, respectively.

Grasim has surged 3% to Rs 1,364. Jaiprakash Associates has moved up 2.5% to Rs 64.

ICICI Bank has rallied nearly 1.5% to Rs 308. Reliance Infrastructure, Ranbaxy and ACC are up over 1% each at Rs 451, Rs 162 and Rs 529, respectively.

 

The market breadth is negative - out of 2,256 stocks traded so far, 1,299 have declined, 850 have advanced and 107 are unchanged.
