Sensex up 106pts; breadth extremely +ve

The NSE Nifty is up eight points at 5,237.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Reliance Energy and Jaiprakash (JP) Associates have rallied 3% each to Rs 3,236, Rs 1,569 and Rs 295, respectively.

ICICI Bank has surged 2% to Rs 955. ACC has advanced 1.5% to Rs 765.

Maruti and Grasim have added 1.3% each to Rs 799 and Rs 2,400, respectively.

HDFC Bank is up over 1% at Rs 1,555.

Tata Motors has slipped over 2% to Rs 675.

Hindalco, Wipro and Mahindra & Mahindra have dropped 1.7% each to Rs 182, Rs 494 and Rs 679, respectively.

SBI has declined 1.5% to Rs 1,795.

 

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,429 stocks traded, 1,965 have advanced, 433 have declined and 31 are unchanged.
