IAF rescues U.S. citizen from Ladakh

Indian Air Force (IAF) on Tuesday successfully rescued a US citizen in critical condition from Ladakh.

Margaret Allen Stone was trekking in the Ladakh region and was held up in Zhongshan area at a distance of 75 Km from Leh since 06 Sep 17 due to injury.

Her condition began to deteriorate due to high altitude and lack of care.

The US Government informed IAF of the situation in the afternoon hours on Wednesday.

IAF promptly decided to act on the issue and was able to track down Stone in Ladakh with the help of civil administration two IAF helicopters.

Stone is being treated at the Leh hospital.
