The Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) affiliated Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (JA) has confirmed that their key commander Abu Jandal was killed in Khyber Agency's Tirah Valley in Pakistan during the November 9 airstrikes.

According to Dawn, the TTP Jamaatul Ahrar spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan said that Jandal was leading a contingent of 50 militants to fight Pakistani security forces in Tirah.

He also said that the contingent would soon be on their way to the valley to fight the nation's armed forces.

Khyber Agency is a key route for Nato supplies and would be their prime target in the upcoming battle, said Ehsan.

At least 13 fighters including the key commander and two suicide bombers were killed in the offensive in Akakhel on Sunday.
