Basic materials stocks ease

Basic materials stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Basic Materials index decreasing 57.95 points or 2.06% at 2757.81 at 13:52 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Basic Materials index, NMDC Ltd (down 8.37%), Zuari Global Ltd (down 6.26%),Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd (down 5.73%),Everest Industries Ltd (down 5.06%),Seya Industries Ltd (down 4.97%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Transpek Industry Ltd (down 4.82%), Shiva Cement Ltd (down 4.78%), Jai Corp Ltd (down 4.74%), Indian Hume Pipe Company Ltd (down 4.61%), and Bhageria Industries Ltd (down 4.54%).

On the other hand, India Glycols Ltd (up 12.24%), Sadhana Nitro Chem Ltd (up 5%), and Uniply Industries Ltd (up 4.99%) turned up.

 

At 13:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 386.51 or 0.94% at 40669.18.

The Nifty 50 index was down 128.3 points or 1.07% at 11917.5.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 183.6 points or 1.26% at 14348.85.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 63.76 points or 1.27% at 4958.47.

On BSE,586 shares were trading in green, 1767 were trading in red and 156 were unchanged.
