Capital Goods stocks edge higher

Capital Goods stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Capital Goods index increasing 142.03 points or 0.83% at 17277.04 at 09:49 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Capital Goods index, HEG Ltd (up 2.55%), Bharat Forge Ltd (up 2.21%),Honeywell Automation India Ltd (up 1.53%),Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (up 1.52%),Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (up 1.39%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd (up 1.32%), Havells India Ltd (up 1.29%), Graphite India Ltd (up 1.14%), Siemens Ltd (up 1.12%), and Finolex Cables Ltd (up 0.98%).

On the other hand, Grindwell Norton Ltd (down 1.84%), Thermax Ltd (down 1.25%), and AIA Engineering Ltd (down 0.42%) turned lower.

 

At 09:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 161.67 or 0.39% at 41304.33.

The Nifty 50 index was up 61 points or 0.5% at 12150.15.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 105.23 points or 0.72% at 14758.74.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 32.28 points or 0.64% at 5113.08.

On BSE,1002 shares were trading in green, 417 were trading in red and 57 were unchanged.
