Energy stocks slide
Energy stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Energy index decreasing 13.46 points or 0.29% at 4653.77 at 13:49 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Goa Carbon Ltd (down 4.99%), Panama Petrochem Ltd (down 3.91%),Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 2.63%),Aegis Logistics Ltd (down 2.62%),Aban Offshore Ltd (down 2.2%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Oil India Ltd (down 2.01%), Gulf Oil Lubricants India Ltd (down 1.74%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd (down 1.24%), Alphageo (India) Ltd (down 1.07%), and Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (down 1.05%).
On the other hand, Castrol India Ltd (up 4.16%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 4.06%), and Coal India Ltd (up 1.93%) turned up.
At 13:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 48.61 or 0.12% at 39784.14.
The Nifty 50 index was up 22.15 points or 0.19% at 11684.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 19.15 points or 0.13% at 14363.85.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 44.2 points or 0.9% at 4968.96.
On BSE,889 shares were trading in green, 1387 were trading in red and 154 were unchanged.
