Healthcare shares rise
Healthcare stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index rising 62.82 points or 0.41% at 15395.21 at 09:53 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Shalby Ltd (up 6.41%), Opto Circuits (India) Ltd (up 4.45%),Morepen Laboratories Ltd (up 3.98%),Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Ltd (up 3.76%),Strides Pharma Science Ltd (up 3.53%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Sequent Scientific Ltd (up 3.52%), Wockhardt Ltd (up 3.5%), Biocon Ltd (up 2.91%), Lupin Ltd (up 2.74%), and Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 2.7%).
On the other hand, Piramal Enterprises Ltd (down 7.36%), Panacea Biotec Ltd (down 7.31%), and Neuland Laboratories Ltd (down 5.33%) moved lower.
At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 1552.09 or 4.6% at 32165.53.
The Nifty 50 index was down 438.1 points or 4.44% at 9421.8.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 324.7 points or 2.92% at 10777.14.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 130.14 points or 3.31% at 3801.79.
On BSE,362 shares were trading in green, 1358 were trading in red and 87 were unchanged.
