Healthcare stocks gain
Healthcare stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index increasing 279.94 points or 1.85% at 15406.53 at 09:52 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Morepen Laboratories Ltd (up 9.96%), IOL Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 7.82%),Pfizer Ltd (up 7.4%),Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 6.99%),RPG Life Sciences Ltd (up 6.27%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Caplin Point Laboratories Ltd (up 5.57%), Panacea Biotec Ltd (up 5.1%), Jubilant Life Sciences Ltd (up 5%), Hikal Ltd (up 4.98%), and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd (up 4.65%).
On the other hand, Vivimed Labs Ltd (down 5%), Unichem Laboratories Ltd (down 3.4%), and Shilpa Medicare Ltd (down 3.32%) turned lower.
At 09:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 181.6 or 0.58% at 31561.15.
The Nifty 50 index was up 61.7 points or 0.67% at 9249.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 196.68 points or 1.85% at 10838.25.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 76.31 points or 2.04% at 3808.09.
On BSE,1127 shares were trading in green, 348 were trading in red and 79 were unchanged.
