Oil and Gas shares gain
Oil and Gas stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index rising 265.25 points or 2.88% at 9482.27 at 09:52 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 4.13%), Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (up 3.7%),Indraprastha Gas Ltd (up 3.2%),GAIL (India) Ltd (up 3.17%),Reliance Industries Ltd (up 2.92%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Petronet LNG Ltd (up 2.84%), Castrol India Ltd (up 2.52%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 2.2%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 1.76%), and Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (up 0.95%).
At 09:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 516.98 or 1.82% at 28957.3.
The Nifty 50 index was up 156.95 points or 1.9% at 8438.05.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 159.46 points or 1.71% at 9490.4.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 42.3 points or 1.26% at 3392.62.
On BSE,982 shares were trading in green, 329 were trading in red and 66 were unchanged.
