Power stocks ease

Power stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Power index decreasing 36.65 points or 1.29% at 2806.95 at 13:49 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, Adani Power Ltd (down 4.97%), Adani Transmission Ltd (down 4.47%),Torrent Power Ltd (down 2.35%),Adani Green Energy Ltd (down 2.12%),Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 1.14%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were NTPC Ltd (down 0.94%), Tata Power Company Ltd (down 0.83%), NHPC Ltd (down 0.56%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 0.37%), and ABB India Ltd (down 0.24%).

On the other hand, K E C International Ltd (up 2.33%), Thermax Ltd (up 1.81%), and Indian Energy Exchange Ltd (up 0.61%) turned up.

 

At 13:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 423.87 or 0.81% at 52729.95.

The Nifty 50 index was up 109.8 points or 0.7% at 15796.75.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 22.23 points or 0.09% at 24930.39.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 12.25 points or 0.16% at 7713.91.

On BSE,1474 shares were trading in green, 1641 were trading in red and 142 were unchanged.
