Utilties stocks edge lower

Utilties stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Utilities index decreasing 13.87 points or 0.78% at 1767.06 at 13:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Utilities index, Reliance Power Ltd (down 4.53%), A2Z Infra Engineering Ltd (down 3.98%),GAIL (India) Ltd (down 1.92%),Nava Bharat Ventures Ltd (down 1.83%),GVK Power & Infrastructure Ltd (down 1.83%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were JSW Energy Ltd (down 1.62%), Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (down 1.29%), Torrent Power Ltd (down 1.28%), Indian Energy Exchange Ltd (down 1.23%), and Adani Power Ltd (down 1.13%).
On the other hand, BF Utilities Ltd (up 1.9%), Gujarat Industries Power Co Ltd (up 0.89%), and PTC India Ltd (up 0.74%) turned up.
At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 152.42 or 0.37% at 41504.59.
The Nifty 50 index was up 36.05 points or 0.3% at 12201.05.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 23.47 points or 0.5% at 4685.52.
On BSE,1053 shares were trading in green, 1273 were trading in red and 177 were unchanged.
