Foreign direct confusion

The United Progressive Alliance, it appears, did not consider it important to do its homework before releasing its report card. According to the report, India received foreign direct investment worth $28.4 billion in the April-February period. If the report writers had checked their numbers, they would have discovered that the actual figure was almost double that at $42 billion and the full-year figure was about $47 billion.
