Priyanshu plays the role of a corporate executive facing the wrath of the poor for land acquisition in the film.
"What we are giving back to society as people in showbiz. Instead of only doing 'songs and item dance', we need to have a hard look at ourselves not only as actors, but people in this society. 'Shunyo Awnko' confronts us with all these and more," Priyanshu told PTI here.
"Goutamda seeks to say something where we are leading to. What is our current status. When I was shooting the scenes in Purulia district it haunted me to see how divorced we were all from Bharat," he said.
The actor said Ghosh has done a very honest job in the film, which was produced by Rose Valley.
The actor, who had also been portrayed as Jyotindranath Tagore in 'Moner Manush' said, "In that period film he spoke about the issue of religious intolerance in the country.
"In 'Shunyo Awnko' while the subject appears very pertinent and very important in today's society the reference to the issue is perhaps not as direct as in the previous film." (MORE)
