Dikshit asks power discoms to inprove infrastructure

Dikshit also asked the government-run transmission utilities and power generation companies to work in tandem with the distribution companies to improve supply of power to the citizens.
The Chief Minister issued the instructions at a meeting with CEOs of the three discoms, heads of power generation companies and Delhi Transco Ltd, the utility which maintains the major transmission network in the city.
Noting that there was a need to improve infrastructure, Dikshit told CEOs of BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd, BSES Yamuna Power Ltd and Tata Power Ltd to urgently replace the old transformers which often collapse when the load on local network goes up.
Various areas in the city have been facing long outages due to breakdown in local distribution network though there was no shortage of power in the city.
Strictly asking the discoms to comply with the directives, she told the CEOs that no one will be spared if directions are taken "casually".
