Lead prices went up by 0.65 per cent to Rs 115.90 per kg in futures trade today as traders widened their bets, tracking rebound in base metals in global market and pick up in demand at domestic spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in June rose by 75 paise, or 0.65 per cent, to Rs 115.90 per kg, in a business turnover of 725 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in July edged up by 65 paise, or 0.56 per cent, to Rs 116.75 per kg in 93 lots.

Market analysts said apart from a firm trend in base metals in global markets, uptick in demand from battery-makers in the domestic spot markets kept lead prices higher in futures trade.
