Missing truck found

alleged to have been hijacked from East Midnapore district was found by the police from Ichhapur in Howrah district, police said today.

The truck was carrying batteries worth about Rs 35 lakh and was allegedly hijacked at Tamluk six days ago.

Acting on a tip off the Howrah district police found the truck near a water tank at Ichchapur last night, the police said.

The truck driver and his helper is absconding, the police said adding the truck and the batteries were impounded.
