Naidu, Vijayan to attend unveiling of late DMK chief's statue

: The Chief Ministers of southern states, including N Chandrababu and Vijayan, would attend a function here on December 16 to unveil a statue of late DMK chief M Karunanidhi, M K said Monday.

The DMK had announced that Sonia Gandhi would unveil the statue.

The programme would be attended by and Vijayan, Chief Ministers of and Kerala, respectively, besides V Narayanaswamy, Puducherry Chief Minister, told reporters.

"While the statue-unveiling is scheduled at Anna Arivalayam (the DMK headquarters), a public meeting will be held later at the YMCA Ground," he said.

Works were progressing well in this regard, he added.
