Actress Francine York, best known for her performance in "The Doll Squad" and a familiar guest star of numerous TV shows from "Batman" to "The Mindy Project", has passed away. She was 80.
York died Friday morning at Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys, California after battling cancer, her friend and TV producer Pepper Jay confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
She appeared in numbers of TV shows starting from "Rescue 8" in 1959 to "The Mindy Project" in 2015.
The actress played Lydia Limpet, the henchwoman of The Bookworm (Roddy McDowall), in a first-season installment of ABC's "Batman" in 1966.
She then went on to portray an alien on "Lost in Space", a Venus statue come to life on "Bewitched" and a doctor on "Land of the Giants".
York appeared in five different roles on "Burke's Law", a series known for featuring gorgeous guest-stars.
On the big screen front, she had worked in cult movies like "The Doll Squad", "Curse of the Swamp People" and "The Centerfold Girls."
York's other notable film appearances include "Bedtime Story" opposite Marlon Brando, "Tickle Me" alongside Elvis Presley and John Carr's "Marilyn: Alive and Behind Bars".
She also played Nicolas Cage's mother-in-law in "The Family Man" in 2000.
Never married, she is survived by her nieces Delinda, Gina and Ava and nephew Dominic.
