Two inmates of a women shelter here have died suddenly of "ill-health" in the past couple of days, prompting the government to order an inquiry into the case.
The two women were brought to Doon Hospital after they fell ill, and doctors there said they also found that the two patients were "weak and anaemic".
They were admitted to Doon Hospital for anaemic condition, but because of their serious illness, they could not be saved despite complete treatment, In-charge Doon Hospital D S Rawat said.

Meanwhile, taking cognisance of the case, Chief Minister Harish Rawat has ordered an inquiry into the case of the two deaths and similar incidents occurring at the women shelter, chief minister's Media In-charge Surendra Kumar today said.
Following government's order, city's District Magistrate Ravinath Raman has constituted a three-member committee under Additional District Magistrate Jharna Kamthan. The panel will submit its report in one month time to the district magistrate, officials said.
The women shelter, had already been in media glare after reports of an inmate's rape and abortion last month.
