The KRC Chairman had promised inauguration of Konkan Railway in October 94, then postponements came at regular intervals. Similarly, the cost incurred upto March 31, 95 as per KRCL balance sheet was Rs 2,406 crore. Since then 18 months have passed, and KRCL wants us to believe that the total cost on completion would be Rs 2,784 crore only.
This is the ground reality. But the KRCL authorities managed to make the new railway minister believe their yarns and encouraged him to claim in Parliament that passenger trains would operate along the route from December 96. The propaganda is aimed at fooling people to make them buy KRC bonds.
