Traded Volume At Rs 535.09 Crore

The Wholesale Debt Market (WDM) at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) clocked a trading volume of Rs 535.09 crore. The treasury bills segment contributed Rs 106.50 crore. Repo deals worth Rs 51 crore were concluded for a term of 11 days. The corporate debentures segment witnessed trades worth Rs 40.38 lakh.
There was active trading interest for the dated government securities with 79 trades being reported at the NSE screen.

Among the treasury bills, the 364-day bill, maturing on April 24, 1998, was traded for Rs 70 crore at the weighted yield of 9 per cent.
The 10.85 per cent government loan, maturing in 2001, was traded for Rs 60 crore at the weighted average yield of 10.51 per cent. The paper closed at the low of Rs 101.05 after touching a high of Rs 101.85 for the day.
The 11.83 per cent government paper, maturing in 2003, too was in demand, and was traded for Rs 60 crore at the weighted average yield of 10.82 per cent. The paper was traded for a low of Rs 103.94 and a high of Rs 104.20 before closing at Rs 104.15 for the day.
The zero per cent government loan maturing in 2000-B was traded for Rs 60 crore at the weighted yield of 10.53 per cent.
