India continued to be an important source market for Singapore's tourism sector in the first half of 2026, with visitor arrivals crossing 6,00,000 between January and June, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) said on Wednesday.
"India's consistent performance is particularly meaningful given the global headwinds the travel industry has had to navigate in recent times. It is a testament to the strong relationships we have built with Indian travellers, our airline partners and the travel trade over the years," STB Regional Director (India, Middle East, South Asia and Africa) Markus Tan said.
Indian visitors also topped spending, recording Singapore dollar 374 million in the first quarter of 2026, according to STB data.
Overall, 8.19 million travellers visited Singapore in the first half of this year, according to the STB data.

India's rice exports to 26 priority markets exceeded their three-year average in the five months following the 2025 Bharat International Rice Conference, offering early signs that a strategy built around matching Indian rice varieties to local cuisines could help diversify demand in overseas markets.
Exports to the 26-market basket totalled Rs 23,476 crore and 4.79 million tonnes between November 2025 and March 2026, according to an analysis by the Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) of Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics data covering Basmati and non-Basmati rice.
Export value was 1.1 per cent above the average for the corresponding November-March period in the previous three years, while volume was 5.6 per cent higher. Eleven of the 26 markets recorded year-on-year growth in both value and volume.
The results come as India seeks to broaden its rice export base amid substantial domestic availability, shifting the focus from simply finding markets for .

The Indian Auto LPG Coalition (IAC) on Friday urged the government to include Auto LPG-powered commercial vehicles in a proposed five-year extension of the age limit for certain vehicles operating under the national permit system.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has proposed extending the prescribed vehicle age limit by five years for battery-operated, hydrogen fuel-based and natural gas-driven commercial vehicles covered by the national permit regime.
Welcoming the proposal, the IAC said Auto LPG vehicles that meet prescribed safety, fitness and emission standards should also qualify for the extension, arguing that cleaner-mobility policy should remain technology-neutral.

Department of Financial Services DFS Secretary Sanjay Lohiya on Tuesday urged Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) to sustain good financial performance and further strengthen credit flow to the last mile.
The net profit of RRBs increased to an all-time high of Rs 10,176 crore in 2025-26 against Rs 6,820 crore in FY25, a jump of 49 per cent.
Both gross non-performing assets (GNPA) and net non-performing assets have reached all-time lows of 5.3 per cent and 2.1 per cent, respectively, the finance ministry said in a statement.
Reviewing the financial performance here, Lohiya appreciated the commendable performance of all RRBs during 2025-26.
At present, 28 RRBs are operating through 22,273 branches across 26 states and 3 Union Territories, covering about 700 districts.
The total business of all 28 RRBs has crossed Rs 13.5 lakh crore, surpassing the business level of a few individual public sector banks (PSBs) in FY26.
