Hindutva firebrand leader and former BJP state chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Thursday urged the "newcomers" in the party to work together with veterans and seniors to achieve the saffron party's common goals. Kumar, who was recently replaced by Union Minister G Kishan Reddy as Telangana BJP president, without naming anyone, called for the newcomers to sort out differences, if any, through dialogue. The BJP national general secretary, who is a sitting MP, is contesting from the Karimnagar assembly segment for the third time. He downplayed his removal as a state unit president, saying that the party is not driven by an individual but by ideology. Kumar also exuded confidence that the BJP will get a majority of seats in the 119-member Telangana assembly in the November 30 polls and the party will form the government this time. "Newcomers may face some difficulty getting along well with senior leaders in the party. Still, we have to work together. If we have joined the party to achieve a

A war of words has erupted in Madhya Pradesh over Rahul Gandhi's 'PM means Panauti Modi' remark with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) hitting back at the Congress leader, calling him "slow-witted". Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, however, defended Gandhi over the use of the word. At an election rally in Rajasthan on Tuesday, Gandhi said, "PM means Panauti Modi", insinuating the prime minister's presence at the Ahmedabad stadium during the India-Australia Cricket World Cup final brought bad luck to the home side, which lost the decider. Reacting to the statement, Madhya Pradesh BJP chief V D Sharma told reporters, "Rahul Gandhi exhibited his 'mandbuddhi' (slow-witted) status by making such a statement against the world's most popular leader Prime Minister Narendra Modi." Gandhi insulted 130 crore people of the state by using the word 'Panauti', he said. "A major reason why the Congress is losing its existence today is Rahul Gandhi and his terminology," Sharma added. ...
The BJP on Wednesday stepped up its protest against Rahul Gandhi for his 'panauti' jibe against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urged the Election Commission to take action against the Congress leader. A party delegation, which included its general secretary Radha Mohan Das Agarwal and another functionary Om Pathak, also sought the poll watchdog's action against Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, accusing him of falsely claiming that Modi's caste was included in Gujarat's OBC list when he was the state chief minister. The Ghanchi caste, a community traditionally employed in oil pressing, was included in the OBC list in 1999 while Modi became chief minister in 2001, Pathak said. "We request the Election Commission to intervene urgently by taking appropriate legal action against Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi for their continued fraudulent, baseless and abusive practice and to pass a prohibitory order against them," the BJP delegation said in its communication to the ...

Senior BJP leader B S Yediyurappa on Wednesday accused the Congress of deceiving the people of Karnataka by not implementing its five pre-poll guarantees after coming to power. The former Karnataka CM also urged the people of Telangana not to fall for Congress party's "lies and empty promises". Addressing reporters here, he said 'Karnataka model' is Congress' election model in other states. The Congress had promised five guarantees to voters in Karnataka and won the elections in May this year. It is selling "Karnataka model" in Telangana and other poll-bound states, he said. "The party has, in fact, hoodwinked the people in Karnataka after winning the elections as its government has failed to implement the guarantee schemes," he added. "The Congress manifesto includes six guarantee schemes only to cheat the voters of the state. I appeal, request the people of Telangana not to get cheated by Congress party's lies and empty promises," he said.
The BJP on Wednesday hit back at the Congress over its condemnation of the seizure of National Herald assets, as the ruling party asserted that the Gandhi family must pay for its "sins". Former Union minister and BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad accused the Gandhi family of capturing National Herald assets by converting the now-defunct newspaper's properties into its "personal properties". An online version of the publication is, however, available. Addressing a press conference, Prasad asked the Congress to explain as to how the action taken against "rank dishonesty and loot of public property" can be described as negation of democracy. After the ED attached assets of the Congress-promoted National Herald on Tuesday, the Congress said such "petty vendetta tactics" cannot frighten it and dubbed the probe agency a "coalition partner" of the BJP. Its leader K C Venugopal slammed the BJP and the probe agencies as "murderers of democracy". Prasad said the newspaper had prime properties
Only BJP can change the face of the politics in Telangana, Telangana BJP President, Kishan Reddy said
Kamareddy assembly seat is set to witness a three-way contest in the coming elections with BRS at an advantage on account of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) contesting from here and the party's organisational prowess having an edge over the relatively weak opposition. State Congress President Revanth Reddy and BJP's K Venkata Ramana Reddy are pitted against the CM. The electoral battle in Kamareddy constituency has intensified with two political heavyweights ready to take on each other on November 30. Reddy picked up the gauntlet after BRS chief chose to contest from a second seat, Kamareddy, after five-time MLA Gampa Govardhan was dropped. As a result, former Congress Minister Mohammad Ali Shabbir had to shift to Nizamabad Urban constituency. Reddy being an outsider and Shabbir moving to another constituency, it has become a challenge for the Congress, while the BJP has fielded a local candidate who finished third with 15,000-odd votes in the 2018 assembly ...

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said the Congress is a symbol of corruption, nepotism and appeasement -- three evils preventing India from becoming a developed nation. Addressing a public meeting in poll-bound Rajasthan's Baran district, the prime minister said Congress leaders are unruly and the people of the state are suffering as the ruling party has handed them over to robbers, rioters and criminals. "As long as three enemies of the country -- corruption, nepotism and appeasement -- are among us, it will be difficult to fulfil the resolution to make India a developed nation. The Congress is the biggest symbol of these three evils," Modi told the gathering. "Be it Congress MLAs or ministers, everyone is unruly and the public is suffering. The Congress has handed over the people of Rajasthan to robbers, rioters, tyrants and criminals," he said. "Today, even children in Rajasthan are saying 'Gehlot ji, you won't get votes'," he added. The prime minister also targeted the
The Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday searched the premises of Congress candidate from Telangana's Chennur seat Vivek Venkatswamy and some others as part of a foreign exchange violation probe, official sources said. They said the federal agency is undertaking the searches under the provisions of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) in Chennur and Hyderabad, they said. The former MP, early this month, had resigned from the BJP and joined the Congress in the presence of party leader Rahul Gandhi in Hyderabad.
