In addition to the above, development and production activities have been started during the year at Parsoda (in Nagpur district) - 11th mine of MOIL. Core production (non-fines, i.e., production excluding fines) jumped 15% during the year. Total production crossed 13 lakh MT in FY'19 (up by 9% y-o-y), which is the highest achievement in last ten years. The company has also achieved highest-ever production of non-fines manganese ore. Non-fines sales are also at a record-high of 11 lakh MT (up by 13% y-o-y). The total production growth in last three years is around 30%. Currently, MOIL holds 34% of manganese ore reserves of the country and is contributing 50% of the domestic production.
The BSE benchmark Sensex rallied over 265.54 points to trade at 38,938.45 in early trade on Monday, driven by sustained buying mainly in metal, auto and financial stocks amid positive global cues. Cipla informed that the US FDA conducted a product specific pre-approval (PAI) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) inspection at its Kurkumbh plant from 11 March 2019 to 20 March 2019. The inspection covered 3 units at the plant. Post the conclusion of the inspection, the company received 8 GMP observations. The company also received 10 observations pertaining to the PAI for a novel technology product slated for approval beyond 2024. These observations are both product specific and GMP observations related to the manufacturing and quality processes. There are no data integrity (DI) observations. The company is committed to addressing these observations and will submit its response to the agency within the stipulated time. The announcement was made yesterday, 31 March 2019.

Welspun Corp, the flagship firm of the Welspun Group, Sunday said it will sell its assets worth Rs 940 crore to two companies -- Laptev Finance and Welspun Captive Power Generation. The company has signed agreement with Laptev Finance to sell its plates and coils mill division for Rs 848.5 crore. "The Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on March 30, 2019...approved the slump sale of the business undertaking of the Company viz Plates and Coils Mill Division (PCMD) to Laptev Finance Pvt Ltd," Welspun Corp said in a regulatory filing. The business transfer agreement (BTA) was executed between the two parties on March 31, and the sale is expected to be completed by end of this year. The consolidated revenues of PCMD was Rs 1,230 crore as on March 31, 2018. Welspun Corp also said that it will sell 43 megawatt power plant to Welspun Captive Power Generation for Rs 66.9 crore.
