Covid-19 pandemic: Sikkim reports 12 new cases, tally at 39,010

Sikkim's COVID-19 caseload rose to 39,010 on Friday with 12 fresh infections, while the death toll remained at 440 with no fatality reported in the last 24 hours, a health department bulletin said. East Sikkim logged nine new cases, followed by three in West Sikkim. The state now has 189 active cases, while 37,637 people have recovered from the disease so far. Altogether 744 patients have migrated to other states. The Himalayan state has conducted 3,23,421 sample tests for COVID-19 thus far, including 315 in the last 24 hours. Sikkim's COVID-19 daily positivity rate stood at 3.8 per cent, while the recovery ratio was 98.4 per cent.

Covid-19 pandemic: Tamil Nadu reports 1,146 fresh cases and 8 deaths

Tamil Nadu recorded 1,146 fresh coronavirus cases -- a marginal decline from 1,252 a day ago -- and six deaths on Friday, taking the count to 34,42,929 and the toll to 37,970. With 4,229 COVID-19 patients getting discharged after treatment today, the cumulative recoveries have increased to 33,84,278, while the total active cases, including isolation, as of today further declined to 20,681 from 23,772 on Thursday. Like many among the 38 districts in the state, Chennai and Coimbatore too continued to witness a marginal decline to 262 and 188 cases, respectively, from 285 and 214 fresh infections, respectively, on Thursday while Erode registered 64 cases as against 69 on the previous day. About 21 districts saw new infections below 50 today while 13 other districts recorded positive cases in single digit with Mayiladuthurai and Perambalur recording one case each. Chhattisgarh sees 392 fresh Covid-19 cases, 3 deaths, 589 recoveries

Chhattisgarh on Friday reported 392 COVID-19 cases, taking its tally to 11,48,693, while three deaths in the past 24 hours increased the toll to 14,021, an official said. The state's positivity rate, or cases detected per 100 tests, was 1.33 per cent as on Friday, he said. The number of recoveries reached 11,30,816 after 49 people were discharged from hospitals and 540 completed home isolation during the day, leaving the state with an active tally of 3,856, he said. "Raipur recorded 41 cases, followed by Dhamtari 37, Balrampur 34, Bilaspur 31, Korba 30, Durg 27, Kanker 20 and Raigarh 11, among other districts. With 29,450 samples examined during the day, the number of COVID-19 tests in the state went up to 1,68,78,540," the official said. Chhattisgarh's coronavirus figures are as follows: Positive cases 11,48,693, new cases 392, death toll 14,021, recovered 11,30,816, active cases 3,856, today tests 29,450, total tests 1,68,78,540.
