Delhi on Friday reported 607 fresh COVID-19 cases and four deaths, while the positivity rate dropped to 1.22 per cent, according to data shared by the city health department. Gujarat added 870 new coronavirus cases and 13 fresh deaths linked to the infection on Thursday, taking the overall tally to 12,19,082 and the toll to 10,864, the state Health Department said. A department release said 2,221 people were discharged during the last 24 hours, taking the tally of recoveries to 12,00,204. At present, Gujarat has 8,014 active cases, of which 53 patients are on ventilator support, the release said. As many as 10.17 crore doses of coronavirus vaccines have been administered to the eligible population so far in Gujarat, of which, 1.82 lakh doses were given on Thursday, the department said. Mizoram reported 1,571 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, 45 less than the previous day, taking the state's tally to 2,02,206, an official said. The death toll rose to 640 with a six-year-old girl from Aizawl succumbing to the infection at Zoram Medical College (ZMC), he said. As many as1,871 people have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 1,92,093. The recovery rate among COVID-19 patients is 95 per cent and the death rate is 0.31 per cent, he said.
