MP reports 237 Covid-19 cases, no death; active tally stands at 1,542

The COVID-19 tally in Madhya Pradesh reached 10,48,295 on Sunday after the detection of 237 cases, an official said. The death toll remained at 10,747 with no death reported in the last 24 hours, he added. The positivity rate, or cases detected per 100 tests, came down to 3.13 per cent from 3.2 per cent the previous day, the official said. The recovery count increased by 209 to touch 10,36,006, leaving the state with 1,542 active cases, the official informed. The number of tests in MP went up to 2,96,70,772 after 7,476 samples were examined during the day, he added. A government release said 12,21,98,934 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered so far in the state, including 6,910 on Sunday. Coronavirus figures in MP are as follows: Total cases 10,48,295, new cases 237, death toll 10,747, recoveries 10,36,006, active cases 1542, number of tests so far 2,96,70,772.

Tripura logs 446 new Covid cases, 1 death; positivity ratio at 12.14%

Tripura on Sunday reported 446 new COVID-19 cases, 230 more than the previous day, with the tally mounting to 1,04,728, a health department bulletin said. The toll rose to 922 as one more person succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours, it said. Delhi on Sunday logged 729 fresh coronavirus cases and two fatalities due to the disease as the positivity rate climbed to 5.57 per cent, according to city health department data. This is the third consecutive day when over 700 cases have been reported in the national capital. With this, the national capital's COVID-19 infection tally climbed to 19,48,492 and the death toll to 26,301, the latest bulletin stated. Mumbai reports 238 Covid-19 cases, two deaths, recovery rate at 98%

Mumbai on Sunday recorded 238 COVID-19 cases and two deaths, taking the tally in the metropolis to 11,22,912 and the toll to 19,640, a civic official said. The addition to the tally was less than the 266 recorded a day earlier, he pointed out. Only 33 of the new cases are symptomatic, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation official added. The recovery count increased by 274 during the day to touch 11,01,455, leaving the city with an active caseload of 1,817, he said. The overall number of coronavirus tests in Mumbai reached 1,77,64,239, including 9,385 carried out on Sunday, he said. As per civic data, the recovery rate stands at 98 per cent and the growth in overall cases between July 17 and 23 was 0.024 per cent.

Ex-Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh tests positive for Covid-19 a second time

Tourism industry, the mainstay of Sikkim's economy, has got back on its feet since the lifting of the COVID 19-induced lockdown late last year, officials said. According to tourism department records, as many as 3.08 lakh domestic travellers visited the hill state between October last year and March 2022, with January being the most profitable month for various stakeholders of the sector at 98,456 visitors. "We have seen a massive growth of the tourism industry with the arrival of large number of visitors from across the country since late last year after the lockdown was lifted by the state government, a tourist department official told PTI. As far as foreigners' footfall is concerned, 6,055 people visited Sikkim during the period, he said.
