Delhi logs 1,095 fresh Covid-19 cases, 6 deaths, positivity rate at 22.74%

Delhi on Tuesday reported 1,095 fresh COVID-19 cases and six fatalities while the positivity rate was recorded at 22.74 , according to data shared by the Health department here. The death toll from the virus in Delhi has risen to 26,606 The total case tally is at 20,35,156. Of the 7,975 Covid beds in the national capital, 318 are occupied, the data showed. Delhi on Monday logged 689 fresh COVID-19 infections and three fatalities with a case positivity rate of 29.42 per cent. Delhi witnessed 948 cases and two fatalities with a positivity rate of 25.69 on Sunday. It logged 1,515 cases and six fatalities with a case positivity rate of 26.46 on Saturday. The department did not issue a bulletin on Friday. The city saw three fatalities and 1,603 fresh caseload additions on Thursday with a positivity rate of 26.75. On Wednesday, it reported six deaths along with 1,757 new cases with a positivity rate of 28.63.

Mumbai records 191 new Covid-19 cases, one fatality in last 24 hours

Mumbai on Tuesday reported 191 new COVID-19 cases, a sharp rise from 59 infections recorded a day before, and one fatality, the city civic body said. With the new additions, the overall number of cases in the metropolis rose to 11,62,137 and the death toll to 19,762. A total of 11,41,140 patients have recovered from the infection in Mumbai so far, including 219 in the last 24 hours, leaving the city with 1,235 active cases, it stated. As per the bulletin, 2,168 swab samples were tested during the day, taking the total number of tests conducted so far in Mumbai to 1,88,37,294. Mumbai's case recovery rate stands at 98.2 per cent, while the overall growth rate of cases from April 18 to 24 stood at 0.0150 per cent. The case doubling rate is 4,603 days, it said.

Maharashtra sees 722 Covid-19 cases, 3 fatalities; active tally at 5,549

Maharashtra on Tuesday reported 722 fresh COVID-19 cases and three fatalities, taking the tally of infections to 81,62,842 and the death toll to 1,48,507, the state health department said. The fresh cases rose thrice compared to Monday when 226 infections were recorded in the state. No COVID-19 fatality was recorded a day before. The active tally of cases in Maharashtra now stands at 5,549. At 328, the Mumbai circle reported the highest number of fresh cases on Tuesday, followed by 161 in Pune Circle, 160 in Nagpur circle, 24 in Latur circle, 23 in Kolhapur circle, 14 in Nashik circle, 11 in Akola circle and single case in Aurangabad circle, the health department bulletin said. One dead, 22 injured as MSRTC bus overturns in Maharashtra's Raigad

One passenger was killed and 22 were injured when a state-owned MSRTC bus overturned after hitting a road divider in Maharashtra's Raigad district on Tuesday, police said. The incident took place at 3.30 pm near Karnala Bird Sanctuary, nearly 60 km from Mumbai, when the Shivshahi' bus operated by the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) was going from Panvel to Mahad, an official said. There were 38 passengers on the bus, he said. The driver of the bus lost control due to which the vehicle hit the road divider, resulting in one of its tyres getting burst, the official said. The bus overturned after the driver tried to swerve to the left, he said. After learning about the accident, police rushed to the spot and rescued the injured passengers, he said. Delhi sees 1,017 Covid cases, four deaths; positivity rate soars to 32.25%

Delhi on Monday logged 1,017 COVID-19 cases, while the positivity rate jumped to 32.25 per cent, the highest in 15 months, according to data shared by the city government's health department. The capital had recorded a positivity rate of 30.6 per cent on January 14 last year. With the new cases, Delhi's COVID-19 tally climbed to 20,24,244. Four fresh fatalities pushed the death toll to 26,567, the health department bulletin stated. Of the latest fatalities, COVID-19 was the primary cause of death in two cases, it stated. According to the bulletin, the fresh cases emerged out of 3,153 tests conducted the previous day. Delhi on Sunday had logged 1,634 COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 29.68 per cent and three deaths. On Saturday, the city had recorded 1,396 COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 31.9 per cent.

India reports 10,093 Covid-19 cases, 23 deaths; active tally at 57,542

India added 10,093 new coronavirus infections, while the active cases increased to 57,542, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday. The death toll has increased to 5,31,114 with 23 deaths. Maharashtra records 660 new Covid-19 cases, 2 deaths in a single day

Maharashtra on Saturday recorded 660 new coronavirus infections and two deaths, the health department said in a bulletin. A day before, the state had recorded 1,152 new cases and four fatalities. The COVID-19 caseload rose to 81,55,189, and death toll reached 1,48,477 on Saturday. State capital Mumbai recorded 266 fresh cases. Satara and Nagpur recorded one fatality each. The case fatality rate in the state is 1.82 per cent. With 539 patients recovering, the total of recoveries in the state rose to 80,00,665. Maharashtra's recovery rate is 98.11 per cent. UP: 8 children, 2 women among 11 killed as tractor-trolley falls into river

Eight children and two women were among 11 people killed when the tractor trolley they were travelling in fell from the bridge here on Saturday, police said. The people were on their way to fetch water from Garra river for 'Bhagwat katha', they said. Of the 11 people, eight were children and two were women, Superintendent of Police S Anand said. As many as 24 people have been injured in the incident. Covid surge: Maharashtra records 1,086 cases, 1 death; active tally 5,700

Maharashtra on Thursday recorded 1,086 COVID-19 cases and one death, which took the tally to 81,53,377 and the toll to 1,48,471, a health official said. It is the second consecutive day when the addition to the tally was above the 1000-mark, he pointed out. On Wednesday, the state had recorded 1,115 cases. Mumbai accounted for 274 cases, followed by 85 in Thane, 76 in Nagpur and 65 in Pune, while the sole death took place in Dhule, the official said. The recovery count increased by 806 in the last 24 hours and touched 79,99,206, leaving the state with an active caseload of 5,700, he said. Delhi logs 1,527 new Covid-19 cases, 2 deaths; positivity rate 27.77%

Delhi recorded 1,527 COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 27.77 per cent on Thursday, according to data shared by the city government's health department. Two Covid-related deaths were also reported. According to the latest bulletin, in one of these two fatalities, COVID-19 was the primary cause, while in the other, Covid was incidental. Delhi's single-day COVID-19 cases count breached the 1,000-mark for the first time in more than seven months on Wednesday, while the positivity rate stood at 23.8 per cent.
