Cong attacks govt on transfer of officers involved in audit of Expressway

The Congress on Wednesday accused the government of intimidating officers of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), who had exposed "corruption" in various schemes, and demanded that their transfer orders be revoked. Citing a media report on the transfer of the officers, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh charged that it is the modus operandi of the Modi government to threaten and remove anyone who "exposes" them. "We demand that these transfer orders should be cancelled immediately, the officers return to the CAG and action must be taken on these mega scams relating to Dwarka Expressway, Bharatmala and Ayushman Bharat," he said in a post on X. Dwarka Expressway, India's first elevated urban expressway, being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 10,000 crore, as part of the Delhi decongestion plan, will be completed in the next 3-4 months, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Thursday. The Expressway will be completed in four packages, he added. The road transport minister said Dwarka Expressway will have a fully-automated tolling system and the entire project will be equipped with an intelligent transportation system (ITS). Dwarka Expressway starts near Shiv Murti on NH-8 and terminates near Kherki Daula Toll plaza on NH-8. The total length of Dwarka Expressway is 29 km, out of which 18.9 km length falls in Haryana, while the remaining 10.1 km is in Delhi. It will provide connectivity to Indira Gandhi International Airport from Dwarka side through Dwarka Expressway. In addition the proposed Dwarka Expressway would provide direct access to upcoming India International Convention Centre in sector 25 of Dwarka.

Elan Group raises $60 mn from PAG for construction of realty projects

Realty firm Elan Group on Friday said it has raised USD 60 million from global investment firm PAG to fund construction of projects, reduce debt and expand business. The company has secured a second round of funding from PAG. In August this year, it had raised USD 50 million from PAG. The investment will be used towards growth capital to endorse existing debt and to scale up construction of its new luxury housing project -- "The Presidential", located in Sector 106 Gurugram. "This follow-on financing from PAG further strengthens the partnership between both firms and the team at Elan is geared up to put this capital to its most efficient use", said Sandeep Agarwal, CFO, Elan Group. NHAI suspends key personnel of L&T, AECOM after Dwarka Expressway mishap

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on Sunday said it has suspended key personnel of developer Larsen & Toubro and supervision consultant AECOM after a portion of an under-construction elevated road on Dwarka expressway collapsed this morning. It said the personnel were suspended pending the outcome of investigation by an expert committee being constituted to probe the incident. A portion of an under-construction elevated road on the Dwarka Expressway collapsed here on Sunday morning, injuring three workers. "Authority has viewed the incident seriously and pending the outcome of the investigation by the committee, the concerned key personnel of the Contractor M/s L&T and Supervision Consultant M/s AECOM have been suspended as per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of NHAI," the NHAI said in a statement.
