John Lithgow boards HBO's 'Perry Mason' series
Veteran actor John Lithgow has boarded the cast of HBO's "Perry Mason" series. The show, featuring "The Americans" star Matthew Rhys in the lead, will be helmed by Tim Van Patten, who is best known for directing many episodes of "The Sopranos", "Boardwalk Empire" and "Game of Thrones". Based on characters created by Erle Stanley Gardner, the limited series is set in 1932 Los Angeles and follows the origins of American fiction's most legendary criminal defense lawyer Perry Mason (Rhys). "Living check-to-check as a low-rent private investigator, Mason is haunted by his wartime experiences in France and suffering the effects of a broken marriage. Chris Evans' 'Infinite' to release in August 2020
Paramount Pictures has announced that Chris Evans-starrer reincarnation drama "Infinite" will open in the theatres in the US on August 7, 2020. The film will be directed by "Equalizer" helmer Antoine Fuqua and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian and John Zaozirny, reported Variety. Rafi Crohn will executive produce. Based on D Eric Maikranz's best-selling novel "The Reincarnationist Papers", the film centres on a group of near-immortal men and women who are reincarnated over the centuries and are known as "the Infinite". Nick Robinson to star opposite Kiersey Clemons in 'The Language of Flowers'
"Love, Simon" breakout Nick Robinson will play the male lead opposite Kiersey Clemons in the film adaptation of author Vanessa Diffenbaugh's novel "The Language of Flowers". The book, which was published in 2011, spent 69 weeks on The New York Times bestseller list and sold over two million copies worldwide. It has been translated in over 40 languages. The story is about a young woman who, despite her own troubled past, discovers she has an extraordinary gift for flowers which helps change the lives of others for the better. When she meets a mysterious vendor at the market (Robinson) who was also raised speaking the language of flowers, however, she is forced to confront her past and ask herself whether she's willing to take a second shot at happiness. Actor Ben Kingsley and Guy Pearce are set to reunite for action film "Long Gone Heroes". The two actors, who previously starred together in Marvel Studios' 2013 film "Iron Man 3", will headline the cast of the new feature which will be helmed by debutant director Santiago Manes Moreno, reported Variety.
