Shoojit Sircar's Udham Singh biopic locks Oct 2020 release date
Shoojit Sircar-directed Udham Singh biopic, starring Vicky Kaushal, will hit the theatres on October 2, 2020, the makers announced Monday. Titled "Sardar Udham Singh", the film is written by Ritesh Shah and Shubendu Bhattacharya. Shah previously worked with Sircar in 2016's "Pink" and Bhattacharya collaborated with the filmmaker on "Madras Cafe" (2013). The film is a biopic on Singhm, the revolutionary who assassinated Michael O'Dwyer, the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab in British India in 1940, to avenge the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The film is a Rising Sun Films Production, backed by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar. Sircar's next release is "Gulabo Sitaabo" with Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana, while Kaushal will next be seen in "Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship" which is slated to be released on November 15 this year.

Actor-comic Tiffany Haddish postponed her show in Atlanta due to Georgia's controversial abortion law. She was scheduled to perform at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta on June 22, reported CNN News. Kentucky, Mississippi and Ohio also recently approved bans on abortion once a fetal heartbeat is detected, which can occur in about the sixth week of pregnancy. A troupe of visually impaired musicians is hitting the right notes in this hill state, with night club owners and event managers lining up to hire them, more so after the state election department recently engaged them for pre-poll campaigns. Aspiring actor booked for hatching own abduction, demanding ransom from family
A 21-year-old aspiring actor was booked here Sunday for allegedly faking his own abduction and demanding a ransom of Rs 6 lakh from his family to fuel his cinematic ambition, police said. The man, identified as Vijay, is a native of Farrukhabad district in Uttar Pradesh and was staying at Bahlolpur in Noida, they said. On Saturday night, the police received a complaint from Vijay's family. They alleged that Vijay was missing from their home in Bahlolpur under Phase 3 police station limits.
