We should have economical theatres: Aamir on reports of 'Thugs' ticket price hike

Aamir Khan Sunday said though he understands the producer's dilemma, he wants "Thugs of Hindostan" to be watched by people belonging to every economic strata of the society. According to reports, Yash Raj Films, the producer and distributor of the film, had increased the ticket prices by at least ten per cent, higher than that of "Sanju". It was reported that the ticket prices will begin from around Rs 400 to Rs 1,500 in the premium multiplexes. Whereas, the single screen theatres may see the average price go up to Rs 200. When asked about the hike in ticket prices of the film in order to milk the lucrative Diwali weekend, Aamir said in an interview that he was not aware about the surge. He added, "I can understand. Aamir Khan Sunday revealed that director Shakun Batra had approached him for a film on the life of spiritual leader Rajneesh, popularly known as Osho, but the actor said he is waiting for a bound script before he takes a decision. Shakun earlier told PTI that he was developing a story on Osho's life. He had said that it would be an ambitious project and he needed to right people on board. Aamir suggested Shah Rukh to take up Rakesh Sharma biopic

Aamir Khan said Sunday that he suggested Shah Rukh Khan's name for the biopic on astronaut Rakesh Sharma as he thought his contemporary would be an apt choice for the project. Reportedly titled "Saare Jahaan Se Achcha", the film was first offered to Aamir and Priyanka Chopra. It was Priyanka who had confirmed Aamir's name for the biopic earlier. Chris Hemsworth has begun shooting for Netflix thriller "Dhaka" in Ahmedabad. The "Avengers: Infinity War" star, who landed in the country last week, shared a few glimpses from the sets of the film on Instagram, Saturday. Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey are joining hands to bring "The Color Purple" to the big screen, but this time, as a musical. The project will be developed at Warner Bros, Variety reported. Letitia Wright to lead John Legend's 'Le Brio' remake

Letitia Wright has bagged her next project, the American remake of French comedy-drama "Le Brio". According to Variety, the project is being produced by John Legend's Get Lifted banner. The original film was directed by Yval Attal and narrated the story of a young French-Arab woman (played by Camelia Jordana) who enrols in a university to pursue law, only to face racism-tainted humiliation from her controversial professor (essayed by Daniel Auteuil), who then becomes her mentor. The "Black Panther" star will step into Jordana's shoes for the remake. French producer Dimitri Rassam has teamed with Legend on the project, which will be co-financed by Endeavor Content.
