Makeup giant Sephora to close for training over racial profiling

High street makeup powerhouse Sephora has announced it will close all its US stores, distribution centres and corporate office for employee training after a racial profiling incident involving Grammy-nominated singer SZA. The black R&B star earlier tweeted she was in one of the beauty chain's shops when security was called on her. In a statement posted to social media on May 24, Sephora said it would close on Wednesday morning to "host inclusion workshops for our employees." After an impressive performance in Netflix's 'Sacred Games', Nawazuddin Siddiqui is all set for his second outing with the online streaming giant for its upcoming film 'Serious Men'.The actor will play the lead role in the movie which will be directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sudhir Mishra.It will be an adaptation of journalist and writer Manu Joseph's novel of the same name.Film critic Taran Adarsh shared the details about the upcoming project on his Twitter handle.'Serious Men' was Manu Joseph's debut novel which released in 2010. British author JK Rowling has revealed she is expanding her wizarding world of Harry Potter with four new eBook shorts. The author said the digital short stories would be themed around the curriculum Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley studies at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. "Prepare to delve deeper into the rich history of magic with this new series of eBook shorts, inspired by the British Library exhibition and its companion books, 'Harry Potter: A History of Magic'. Actor-singer Ruma Guha Thakurta is dead

Actor-singer Ruma Guha Thakurta, who impressed the audience with her impressive performance in Bengali films like 'Ganga', 'Balika Badhu' and '36 Chowringhee Lane', died in sleep early Monday aged 84, family sources said. Thakurta, the first wife of versatile actor-singer Kishore Kumar, passed away at her Ballygunge Place residence in the city. She was suffering from old age-related ailments. Thakurta is survived by two sons including singer Amit Kumar and a daughter from two marriages. "She passed away in her sleep early this morning. Our family doctor confirmed it. The timing of her death could be between 6 and 6.15 am," said Ayan Guha Thakurta, her son from her second marriage. Thakurta, a niece of film legend Satyajit Ray, worked in over 60 films. Delhi HC to hear plea seeking stay on release of 'Bharat'

The Delhi High Court said it will hear on Monday itself a plea seeking a stay on the release of Salman Khan starrer "Bharat" on the grounds that the film named after the nation will distort its cultural and political image. The film is slated to release on June 5. The plea was mentioned for urgent hearing before a vacation bench of Justices J R Midha and Chander Shekhar which said it will hear it today itself. The plea said the Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act prohibited the use of the name 'Bharat' for any trade, business, profession, or in a title of any patent and in any trademark.
