NEET-UG plan: Police escort for papers, coaching centres monitored

The Ministry of Education is holding a series of meetings with district magistrates and superintendents of police from all states and union territories to ensure there are no lapses in the upcoming medical entrance exam NEET-UG, sources said on Monday. The crucial exam is scheduled on May 4. It will be conducted in more than 550 cities and at over 5,000 centres across the country. The Ministry has been working on a fool-proof plan following alleged irregularities in last year's exam, including paper leaks, which put the exam integrity under scanner. "To ensure smooth, fair and secure conduct of NEET-UG, a series of meetings have been held with DMs and SPs of all states and UTs. The district-level coordination committees are being fully activated to manage logistics, security and crisis response," a source told PTI. SSC introduces Aadhaar-based authentication for recruitment exams

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has decided to implement Aadhaar-based biometric authentication in its all forthcoming examinations in order to verify candidates' identity on a voluntary basis, officials said on Sunday. They said the new measure will come into force for recruitment tests conducted from next month onwards. The SSC is one of the largest recruitment agencies of the central government with its main mandate to conduct selections for non-gazetted posts in various central ministries and departments, among others. "The Commission has decided to implement Aadhar Based Biometric Authentication in its forthcoming examinations. "Accordingly, candidates will be able to authenticate themselves using Aadhaar at the time of online registration, while filling up online application form for the examinations and while appearing at the test centre to take examinations conducted by the Commission from May 2025 onwards," a recent public notice issued by the recruitment body said.

24 secure perfect 100 score in JEE (Main), NTA flags 110 unfair means cases

Twenty-four candidates scored a perfect 100 in the engineering entrance JEE (Main), the results of which were announced by the National Testing Agency on Saturday. Rajasthan had the highest number of candidates with a perfect score. One woman student is among the top scorers. According to National Testing Agency (NTA) officials, NTA scores are not the same as the percentage of marks obtained but normalised scores. NTA scores are normalised scores across multi-session papers and are based on the relative performance of all those who appeared for the examination in one session, a senior official explained. CA final exams to be held thrice a year from this year, announces ICAI

CA Final exams will be conducted thrice a year from 2025 instead of two, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) announced on Thursday. Last year, the ICAI took a decision to hold the Intermediate and Foundation course exams three times a year and now the CA Final exams will follow suit, it said. "In order to align with global best practices and provide students with greater opportunities, the 26th Council of the ICAI has taken a historic decision to hold the CA Final exam three times a year. This examination was being held twice a year," the ICAI said in a statement. "Now, all three levels CA Final, Intermediate and Foundation, will have an equal number of attempts each year, providing students more opportunities to sit in the exam.
