Karnataka on Sunday added 406 fresh Covid-19 cases and 10 deaths taking the caseload and mortality to 29,81,027 and 37,885, the Health department said.

Karnataka logged 397 new COVID-19 cases and five deaths on Friday, taking the total number of infections to 29,80,170 and the toll to 37,866. The day also saw 603 discharges, taking the total number of recoveries in the state so far to 29,30,867. The Karnataka government is seriously considering bringing in a law against religious conversion either by force or through inducement in the state, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Tuesday. "Such things (conversions) are happening here and there. Couple of days ago I gave appropriate directions to district administrations not to allow any religious conversion through inducement or by force, as it is illegal," Bommai said in response to a question on alleged incidents of religious conversions in Kalaburagi and Byadarahalli here.
