Pak forces ready to safeguard territorial sovereignty: Army chief

Pakistan Army chief General Asim Munir on Monday said any aggression or violation of the country's territorial sovereignty will be responded to with full national resolve and military might. 2 drone-dropped packets with explosives, cash seized near LoC in Jammu

Two drone-dropped packets containing six battery-operated Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), a pistol and some cash were seized in a joint operation by the Army and police near the Line of Control in the Akhnoor sector here Sunday, officials said. The timely recovery of the packets, believed to have been dropped by Pakistani drones, thwarted major strikes by terrorists on Indian soil, they said. The officials said the packets were spotted on an open field in Channi Dewano village in the Khour area at around 7.50 am. The Army and the police launched a joint operation immediately and the packets were opened with the help of a bomb disposal squad, leading to the recovery of the IEDs, a 9-mm Italian pistol, three magazines, 30 rounds, a hand grenade and Rs 35,000 cash, they said. This comes a day after Army troops scuttled an infiltration bid by eliminating a terrorist in the same sector.

Two terrorists killed in encounter with forces near LoC in J-K's Baramulla

Two terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces near the Line of Control (LoC) in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, police said. The encounter broke out in the Hathlanga forward area in Uri sector of the north Kashmir district. A search operation is underway in the area, they said. "#Encounter has started between #terrorists and Army & Baramulla Police in forward area of #Uri, Hathlanga in #Baramulla district," the Kashmir Zone Police said in a post on X. In subsequent updates, it said two terrorists have been killed in the encounter and a search operation is underway in the area. The identities and group affiliation of the slain terrorists are yet to be ascertained, police said. The encounter comes at a time when an operation is underway in Anantnag district to neutralise terrorists who have taken positions in the forest area in a hilly terrain. The gunfight entered its third day on Friday.

BSF jawan reported missing near LoC in J-K's Poonch district: Officials

A BSF jawan was reported missing from his post near the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Saturday. The constable, hailing from Bihar, was on general duty at the Bharani forward post in Balakote sector when he went missing on Friday, they said. They said Border Security Force (BSF) troops carried out a search operation for the jawan who could not be traced following which a missing report was lodged with the concerned police station.

The Pakistan Army on Tuesday said the situation at the Line of Control (LoC) has remained "relatively peaceful" after the ceasefire agreement with India was restored in 2021. Situation along Northern border stable but unpredictable: Army Chief

The situation along the frontier with China is "stable" but "unpredictable" and Indian troops are adequately deployed to deal with any contingency, Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande said on Thursday. Drone shot by BSF along Punjab border in Amritsar, falls on Pakistan side

A Pakistan drone that entered India from along the International Border in Punjab was intercepted by BSF troops following which it fell on the other side, a senior officer said Wednesday. The drone was "downed" by Border Security Force (BSF) troops around 7:20 pm on Tuesday and it has been taken away by Pakistan Rangers, he said. The incident took place near the Daoke border post in Amritsar. It was found lying 20 metres inside Pakistan territory opposite Indian border post Bharopal when a search was conducted on Wednesday morning, a BSF spokesperson said.
