Manish Pandey is an Indian international cricketer. He is a right-handed middle-order batsman representing Karnataka in domestic cricket. He came to limelight after scoring a brilliant 73 ball 114 in 2nd edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) to become first Indian to score a century in franchise cricket. He was a member of the victorious Indian team that played in the 2008 Under-19 World Cup held in Malaysia.
ODI career
After a terrific run in IPL, Pandey was called for national duty. He made One Day International (ODI) debut against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club in July 14, 2015. In his debut game he stitched a 144-run partnership with Kedar jadhav after India were struggling at 82 for the loss of 4 wickets and made maiden half century before getting dismissed for 71 runs. He was picked for the ODI series against Australia in January 2016. In the final game at the Sydney Cricket Ground, he played a match-winning knock of 104 to help India win its only match of the series. Overall, he has amassed 440 runs in 23 matches at an average of 36.67 with a strike rate of 91.86, including a century and two fifties.
IPL career
He started his Indian Premier League career against Kolkata Knight Riders at The Eden Gardens in Kolkata on April 29, 2018 while playing for Mumbai Indians. He moved to Deccan Chargers in IPL’s second season and went to a century to lift his side to play-offs. He played for Royal Challengers Bangalore next season, and then represented Sahara Pune Warriors (SPW). After SPW dissolution from the league, Kolkata Knight Riders bought him in 2014. In IPL 2018 Players’ auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad bagged him for whopping Rs 11 crore. He has accumulated 2,843 runs in 130 matches at an average of 29.30 with a strike rate of 120.82, including one century and 15 fifties.
T20I career
He made T20 International debut against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club on July 17, 2015. He has amassed 538 runs in 28 matches at an average of 41.38 with a strike rate of 122.83, including two fifties.
