Sebi resolves over 4K investor complaints via Scores platform in Mar 2025

Capital markets regulator Sebi has disposed of 4,371 complaints in March through its grievance redressal facilitation SCORES platform. The regulator said three complaints were pending for more than three months on SCORES as of March-end involving entities Madhuveer Com18 Network Ltd and Nikhil Dayanand Baljekar. According to the Sebi data, complaints pending as on February 28 stood at 4,376. In March, the market regulator received 4,156 fresh complaints, and a total of 4,161 complaints remained unresolved as of March 31, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) said in a public notice on April 11. The regulator also highlighted that the average resolution time taken by the entities to submit action taken reports (ATRs) in March was nine days. Under the upgraded SCORES 2.0 framework, complaints are automatically forwarded to the entity concerned, which is given 21 days to submit an ATR to the investor. Sebi announces launch of official X account for updates, notifications

Markets regulator Sebi on Tuesday announced the launch of its official X account -- @SEBI_updates. Accordingly, Sebi will be posting notifications relating to regulations, orders, circulars and press releases on the handle which will also be available on the regulator's website. "For quick access to various updates from Sebi, investors, corporates, intermediaries and other stakeholders may follow @SEBI_updates," the regulator said in a statement. The new handle was officially launched on April 4, it added.

Mcap of 8 top valued firms climbs ₹88,085.8 cr; HDFC Bank biggest gainer

The combined market valuation of eight of the top-10 most-valued firms climbed Rs 88,085.89 crore last week, with HDFC Bank leading the pack of gainers, in line with an optimistic trend in equities. Last week, the BSE benchmark gauge climbed 509.41 points, or 0.66 per cent. From the top-10 pack, HDFC Bank, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Bajaj Finance, Hindustan Unilever, and ITC were the gainers, while Reliance Industries and Infosys faced erosion from their market valuation. HDFC Bank added Rs 44,933.62 crore, taking its valuation to Rs 13,99,208.73 crore. The market capitalisation (mcap) of State Bank of India jumped Rs 16,599.79 crore to Rs 6,88,623.68 crore. The valuation of TCS rallied Rs 9,063.31 crore to Rs 13,04,121.56 crore while that of ICICI Bank was up Rs 5,140.15 crore to Rs 9,52,768.61 crore. Global trends, tariff-related updates and trading activity of foreign investors would be the key drivers for the equity market movement this week, analysts said. Markets witnessed a strong rebound last week, with the benchmark indices surging over 4 per cent. Sebi mulls clarifying ESOP rules for promoters; minimum holding term in OFS

With an aim to streamline the processes for public issues, markets regulator Sebi on Thursday proposed giving clarifications on minimum holding period for equity shares in Offer for Sale (OFS) as well as on employee stock options (ESOPs) for founders classified as promoters. In its consultation paper, the regulator proposed amendments to the ICDR (Issue of Capital Disclosure Requirements) rules and Sebi (Share Based Employee Benefits and Sweat Equity) norms. The proposals, if implemented, would ensure that the rules are clear and consistent, aligning the eligibility for Offer for Sale (OFS) and Minimum Promoter Contribution (MPC) requirements. The proposals aim to harmonise the treatment of shares obtained through different mechanisms such as compulsory conversion of securities or approved schemes.
