Landing trials at Noida airport postponed, likely to begin from Nov 30

The landing trial at the Noida International Airport, scheduled for Friday, has been postponed after failing to get the required permissions from the DGCA, an official said. The test is likely to begin from November 30, he said. After the calibration report was approved, there was a plan to start testing on the runway from November 15, under which it was planned to land and take off three aircraft each of aviation companies Indigo and Akasa daily. Dr Arunvir Singh, Chief Executive Officer of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), said, "Due to non-receipt of permission from Directorate General of Civil Aviation, the test of the runway of the proposed Noida International Airport from November 15 has been postponed. It is expected that the test will start from November 30. Preparations are being made accordingly.' After the completion of the test, the aerodrome license will be issued by the DGCA, only after which the airport will be ready for commercial operation

Ingka Centres, a part of Ingka Group that operates IKEA retail, will invest 607 million euros (about Rs 5,500 crore) to set up its second meeting place in India at Noida under the Lykli brand, taking its overall investment in the country to a 1 billion euros, according to the company's Global Expansion & Development Director Sebastian Hylving. Realty firm M3M India and Oravel Stays, which is the parent company of OYO Hotels & Homes, have signed an initial agreement to launch a premium hotel under 'SUNDAY' brand in Gurugram. In a statement, M3M India said it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch 'SUNDAY' Hotel in India. Registration of residential properties in Noida and Greater Noida rose 29 per cent annually in the June quarter to 8,212 units, according to housing brokerage firm Square Yards. As many as 6,354 units were registered in the year-ago period. Residential real estate activity in Noida and Greater Noida saw a marked uptick in the June quarter of 2024, with 8,212 residential transactions registered with the Inspector General of Registration (IGR). "The combined sales value of these transactions reached Rs 6,013 crore, representing a 59 per cent year-on-year surge, outpacing the growth in transaction volume," the consultant said in a statement. In Noida, Square Yards said that 3,200 units were registered during the April-June period against 2,408 units a year ago. Several people were evacuated from DLF Mall of India in Sector 18 here on Saturday triggering fear of a bomb threat even as the mall authorities said it was a security drill.
