Court sends Yasin Malik to judicial custody till May 24
Delhi's Patiala House Court on Wednesday sent Kashmiri separatist leader Yasin Malik to judicial custody till May 24 in connection with the 2017 terror funding and conspiracy case.Tihar jail authorities also moved an application seeking direction from the court to produce the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader through video conferencing due to security concerns, to which the court asked the defence counsel to reply.Malik had earlier been arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and had got his custody from the special court till April 22.Malik was arrested a couple of weeks after the Central government banned the JKLF saying that the outfit led by former militant leader Malik was actively engaged in inciting secessionism and illegal funnelling of funds for fomenting terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Congress Party has named Gulab Singh Kerar as the party's star campaigner for Madhya Pradesh in the Lok Sabha elections. Kerar is allegedly an accused in the Vypam scam.The grand-old party on Tuesday submitted to the Election Commission of India (ECI) a list of star campaigners for the Lok Sabha polls to be conducted in Madhya Pradesh on May 12.The Vyapam scam involved 13 different exams conducted by Vyapam, for selection of medical students and state government employees (including food inspectors, transport constables, police personnel, school teachers, dairy supply officers, and forest guards). Delhi BJP's social media and IT cell in-charge Wednesday directed his team to remove Udit Raj from the party's social media groups, hours after the disgruntled MP joined the Congress. Raj joined the Congress after meeting party president Rahul Gandhi this morning after the BJP replaced him from the Northwest Lok Sabha constituency and fielded Punjabi sufi singer Hans Raj Hans. "As you know now that Udit Raj has joined the Congress, so kindly remove his and associates mobile numbers from your groups and broadcast list so that our information is not shared with them," a message sent by Neelkant Bakshi, co-incharge, social media and IT cell of the Delhi BJP, to his team members said. Delhi court sends 14th accused in ISIS-inspired group case to NIA custody till May 1
A Delhi court on Wednesday sent Mohd Faiz, an alleged member of an ISIS-inspired terror module that was planning to carry out terror attacks in and around the National Capital Region and Uttar Pradesh, to NIA custody till May 1. Additional Sessions Judge Rakesh Syal allowed the NIA to quiz Faiz, who was arrested yesterday, after the agency sought seven days remand to question him. The NIA told the court that Faiz was arrested as he was the key conspirator in planning to carry out terrorist attacks in NCR and Uttar Pradesh. The agency also informed the court that Faiz was the main member of Harkat-Ul-Harb-E-Islam, an ISIS-inspired group. It said that investigation has revealed he was involved in the procurement of arms ammunition for the group to carry out terrorist attacks. During the hearing, advocate M S Khan, appearing for Faiz, opposed the plea of NIA seeking custody, saying he has already joined the investigation and there was no need of sending him to the agency's remand.
