30 pc turnout till 11 am in Tripura

Thirty per cent voter turn out was recorded in the first four hours of polling in West Tripura Lok Sabha seat even as the opposition CPI(M) and the Congress alleged of rigging and intimidation of voters. UK business says Brexit extension averts crisis

One of Britain's leading business lobby groups says the Brexit extension granted to the country at a summit in Brussels overnight means an "imminent economic crisis" has been averted. However, the Confederation of British Industry is warning that a fresh start is needed to avoid more acute uncertainty in the run up to the new Oct. 31 Brexit deadline. CBI director-general, Carolyn Fairbairn, said businesses will be adjusting their plans to cope with a potential 'no-deal' Brexit later in the year but won't be cancelling them. She says Britain's leaders must make productive use of the time afforded by the extension announced by the EU following hours of discussions. 23.78 per cent voter turnout in U'khand by 11 am

Polling in Uttarakhand's five Lok Sabha seats saw 23.78 per cent voter turnout by 11 am with people queuing up since early morning to exercise their franchise, an official said. The fate of 52 candidates will be decided by over 78 lakh voters of the state, where all the five seats -- Tehri, Pauri, Haridwar, Almora and Nainital -- are being held by the BJP. The saffron party is locked in straight contests with the Congress on all seats. Polling began at 7 am and 23.78 per cent voter turnout was recorded by 11 am, Chief Electoral Officer Saujanya said. Bihar: RJD-NDA supporters clash at polling booth in Nawada

Clashes broke out allegedly between Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and National Democratic Alliance (NDA) supporters on Monday at booth number 270 in Nawada while polling was underway.The NDA supporters alleged that the RJD supporters had forced their way into the polling booth and were forcing women to vote for their candidate. Chhattisgarh: ITBP, Police joint party come under Naxal ambush, no casualties reported

The Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Chhattisgarh Police joint party on Thursday came under a Naxal ambush here in the early morning hours while on their way to a polling booth. 13 pc polling in Jammu LS seat till 9 am

The Jammu Lok Sabha constituency recorded 13 percent polling till 9 am on Thursday, election officials said. Voting began peacefully in the Jammu Lok Sabha constituency at 7 am, with voters in Samba, Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch turning up to exercise their franchise early morning, they said. Samba registered 16.52 per cent polling, followed by 14.12 per cent in Jammu district, 11.88 per cent in Rajouri district and 12.98 per cent in Poonch district, they said.
